Toni Bee was poet laureate and Inaugural Cambridge Poetry Ambassador for the City of Cambridge. She and her friend will be part of several upcoming spoken word events in Cambridge and surrounding area. Saturday, November 19, 2016, just a week and a half after the U.S. Presidential election of Donald Trump, The Liberation Poetry Collective assembled to perform Poetry Matters. Poetry Matters' is a collection of poet activists which dates back over 20 years. The theme for Saturday's event was Voices Against Injustice. The venue was Cambridge's Out Of The Blue Gallery, @outofthebluegallery. Their theme was inspired by the perceived atmosphere due to campaign rhetoric used by then candidate Donald Trump.
