Labor Day...the final frontier before we put away the mementos of summer.

Whether it be a final visit to the beach, back yard BBQs (hint hint), or catching the latest movie blockbuster, Labor Day is sort of the last Hoorah before returning to school or the routine of work.

For many in the Cambridge area (i.e.. students), summer means returning home to catch a breather from university studies.

Hence, the real experience of a Cambridge summer is always missed.

But not to worry, Labor Day always provides a hearty sampling of what the city has to offer with its potluck invitations, music festivals, outdoor adventures and such like.

Returning students will have plenty of opportunity to participate in happenings in and around the city.

So grab those favorites shirts, shorts, shades, or summer dresses and head out for fun & sun in the city.

However, if you've had your share of sun, you still have time to catch a movie blockbuster or two.

Of all the things not to miss, REMEMBER to mark your calendar for CCTV's Back Lot BBQ Thursday September 17, 2015!

The BBQ will feature food grilled by local chefs, live music by Zili Misik, a silent auction, and the presentation of the Leading Role Award.

It all happens in CCTV's back lot at 5:30 pm at 438 Massachusetts Avenue (entrance on Green Street between Brookline Street and Sidney Street).

As always, all funds raised through this year’s BBQ will support CCTV’s year-round Youth Media Program, which fosters healthy youth development by involving teens in activities that promote media art, career and leadership skills while exploring issues affecting our community.

Be there, or be square!

(how's that for old school for you? :-)
