Liberation Poetry Collective Presents Poetry Matters at Cambridge's Out of the Blue Gallery

Saturday, November 19, 2016, just a week and a half after the U.S. Presidential election of Donald Trump, The Liberation Poetry Collective assembled to perform Poetry Matters. Poetry Matters' is a collection of poet activists which dates back over 20 years. The theme for Saturday's event was Voices Against Injustice. The venue was Cambridge's Out Of The Blue Gallery, @outofthebluegallery. Their theme was inspired by the perceived atmosphere due to campaign rhetoric used by then candidate Donald Trump. After 2016's election, the collective gathered to protest via their art against the renewed hate speech being displayed, both in the U.S. and worldwide. Scheduled readings include: Richard Cambridge, Neil Callendar, Everett Hoagland, Jill Netchinsky, Aldo Tambolini, Tontongi, Askia Toure, Ashley Rose Salomon, Tony Van Der Meer and Brenda Walcott.
