Education Talk with Priyanka Deo, Ep. 2: Disabilities & Access Services

In the second episode of Education Talk, host Priyanka Deo (an intern in the NeighborMedia program at CCTV) brings attention to education and disabilities. This is a growing field of discussion and our expert today are doing and have done some tremendous work with access, disabilities and education all over the world. Guests are:

  • Eileen Berger - Access and disability services administrator at the Harvard graduate school of education who has devoted much of her career with some unique experiences towards students with disabilities.
  • Varun Kapoor - worked at a think tank and consultancy in India working with clients like the World Bank developing curriculum for students with disabilities. He has also volunteered in schools for 10 years, working with developmentally challenged students.
  • Stacy Jones - current medical student who advocates for disability services at Harvard- she has even co-founded a national student alliance for disability in the health sciences.
  • Melanie Gertzman - executive director of the Bluelaces Theatre Company in NYC that creates theatrical experiences specifically designed for audiences of all ages with autism and other developmental disabilities.
