Chi Eta Zeta hosts Blu'Tique to Help Struggling Folks in Cambridge

Local sorority hosts a clothing drive for low-income and homeless men, women, and children.

On March 21, Chi Eta Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta sorority hosted a clothing giveaway event at the YWCA Cambridge. "Blu-Tique," as the event was called, included clothing for all ages and genders, goodie bags, and lots of friendly faces. The Cambridge community, encouraged by City Councilor Denise Simmons and many others, donated lots of good quality clothing, shoes, and accessories for the event.

Over the years there have been many proposals to improve the Red Line. Completed projects include the extension from Harvard to Alewife and the lengthening of all Red Line platforms. Since 1994, when the last new Red Line cars arrived, there have been no major improvements to the physical plant. Old rail cars have been rebuilt, and display boards with clocks have been installed.

I had the good fortune to be able to attend the talk given by Jay Blitzman on Tuesday March 23, 2015 at the Main Library in Cambridge. Unfortunately, a previous commitment prevented me from seeing the entire program. Mr. Blitzman, the First Justice of the Middlesex County, MA Juvenile Court, spoke on the problem nationwide.
